Elected Officers

While all Space Coast Area Mensa officers are volunteers, there are a few elected positions. Others are appointed by the Executive Committee (ExComm), which consists of the following elected positions, with their current office holders:

Volunteer Positions

These are the general administrative volunteer positions, and their current holders:

• Newsletter Editor:  Michael Moakley
• Calendar Coordinator:  Doug Starke

• Assembly/Circulation: Elaine Joyce
• Membership Chairman:  Karen Freiberg 
• MERF Scholarship Chairman:  volunteer needed!
• Proctor Coordinator:  Helen Lee Moore
• SIG Chairman: volunteer needed! (also see the Activities page for information about local special interest groups)
• Service of International Guidance and Hospitality to Travelers (S.I.G.H.T.) Coordinator:  Karen Freiberg. (SIGHT is usually a committee of one but the coordinator is important to the group for establishing good will between this group and Mensans from all over the world. The coordinator helps find lodging -- sometimes in the home of a local Mensan --, arranges transportation when necessary, and arranges entertainment when desired for out-of-area Mensans traveling through the local region. Your S.I.G.H.T. Coordinator also helps you liaise with her counterpart(s) in the areas that you intend to visit. Email sight@scam.us.mensa.org to let your SIGHT coordinator help you!

• Gifted Children Coordinator:  volunteer needed!
• Publicity:  volunteer needed! (The Publicity Coordinator brings the Local Group's message, activities and results to the attention of the media, in order to gain new members. An imaginative Publicity Coordinator will develop publicity in newspapers, magazines, television, radio, cable and in-house public relations endeavors. Advertisements in media, on posters and through local speakers' bureaus can be used to spread the message.)
